There’s something magical about the unexpected connections we make through music, and this past performance brought a story that will stay with us for a long time.

During one of our sets, a sweet older woman approached Annie — our very own “The Black Widow” — and asked her name. When Annie introduced herself, the woman immediately smiled and said, “Oh, like Little Orphan Annie or Raggedy Ann!” That comment sparked a heartfelt conversation. Annie shared that she’s always loved Raggedy Ann dolls and even collects them.

Tinkerbell Disapeared and Returned with a Surprise!

The woman, who introduced herself as TinkerBell (yes, really!), disappeared for a while. We didn’t think much of it — until she returned during our second break. And what did she bring? A beautiful Raggedy Ann doll!

TinkerBell told Annie that she had purchased the doll years ago at an estate sale and had held onto it ever since. But something about Annie made her want to give it away, and she knew it would be cherished.

It was an incredibly touching moment. Annie was moved by the gesture and absolutely loved the doll. It’s not every day you meet someone who shares a part of their story — or their treasures — so freely.

While chatting with the rest of the band, TinkerBell mentioned that she had really enjoyed our set, especially when we played House of the Rising Sun. She couldn’t stop talking about how much she loved that song. It turns out that music wasn’t the only thing keeping her young at heart.

TinkerBell, at 89 years old, looked incredible — radiating joy, kindness, and a spirit that left an impression on all of us. We made sure to capture the moment with a photo and shared some laughs before parting ways.

Why We Do What We Do

Moments like these are why we do what we do. Music brings people together, but it’s the stories and connections that make the experience truly special. Annie’s new Raggedy Ann doll now holds even more meaning, and we’ll always remember our sweet encounter with TinkerBell.

Here’s to the beautiful connections that music brings — and the kindness that lives in unexpected moments.

  1. Annie, Thank you so very much for you lovely way to tell our story. It was a moment that seemed to take off on it’s own and just happen. I think that is life at it’s best. I also will treasure that my doll has found a wonderful forever home with you. May you all enjoy your beautiful future. Thank you again for sharing some of it with me., Tinkerbell
